Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

At Gateway, we recognize the importance of continuity of care and the profound positive impact that our services have in the lives of our clients. For this reason, we remain committed to providing essential services to those in need, while also taking every possible precaution to ensure the health and safety of our dedicated staff and our clients and their families as we adapt to the rapidly changing conditions and concerns related to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Please use this page as a resource for up-to-date information on our current protocols with respect to COVID-19. In addition, we encourage everyone to monitor the CDC’s website for the most current updates from the CDC.

WHAT GATEWAY IS DOING TO KEEP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY SAFE

1. Location of Services

While we continue to provide both home-based and clinic-based services, we have shifted many of our clinic-based therapy sessions to the home setting when parents are able to accommodate this adjustment. This effort reduces the opportunities for person-to-person contact, both for the clients we serve in their homes and for those who continue to receive services in a reduced-capacity clinic setting that allows for social distancing practices.

2. Social Distancing and Telepractice

Even those clients who continue receiving services at this time may still wish to limit the number of individuals coming into their home. For this reason, we have been actively pursuing opportunities for telepractice, so that your child’s BCBA can meet with you and continue to provide support remotely.

3. Cleaning Protocols

Across our organization, we have instituted cleaning protocols that go above and beyond our already strong commitment to maintaining sanitary environments. All areas and surfaces that clients and staff may come into contact with are subject to frequent and thorough cleaning with Coronavirus-eliminating products, several times per day. Our clinic locations are also filled with visual instructions and reminders of essential hygiene practices.

Our same standards of cleanliness apply to equally to clinic and home-based services. We have made sanitation kits available to all staff providing in-home therapy so that they are able to maintain a clean and safe therapy environment in a variety of settings.

4. Health Screenings

Clients and staff alike are subject to a health screening when entering our clinic facilities, including having their temperature checked. Those with any signs of fever will not be permitted to enter the clinic. In addition, all staff members have received clear instructions to stay home if they are showing any sign of illness, however mild. Open lines of communication remain in place so that employees are able to notify supervisors if they may have been in contact with someone who was ill, or if they traveled to an affected area, so that they can be advised to follow established safety protocols.
