Lauren Bauer

Lead Behavior Technician

Lauren graduated from Oakland University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is a Lead Behavior Technician and has been with Gateway for a year, working primarily with younger children. Lauren works in-home occasionally, but mostly works in-clinic at the Bingham Farms location. Lauren spends her free time with her family, friends, and two cats. One of her favorite things to do is go to concerts, especially in the summer. She is also having one of her coworkers personal train her. Lauren is excited to be continuing her education at Eastern Michigan University, where this fall she will begin their Clinical Behavioral Psychology Master’s program to become a BCBA and LLP.

“I love all the kids I work with, and seeing the progress they make every day. Sometimes something as small as waving hello can be a long process, and seeing them do it for the first time is so exciting because I know what a huge victory it is for them. It’s great to be able to tell the parents every time their child does something new, and seeing their reactions. I also love the constant opportunities for learning and problem solving, and the fact that we have such a collaborative work environment.”

Iliriana Gjokaj

Behavior Technician

lliriana is a Behavior Technician who works primarily with children ages three to seven. She works in both clinic locations, but occasionally works in-home as well. She has extensive personal experience with children, as well as a couple of family members with children on the spectrum.  Iliriana’s academic work was focused on psychology and liberal arts. She has an enormous family and spends most of her free time with them, especially her 1 1/2 year old niece. She also enjoys watching shows like Game of Thrones.

“I love my job because of my amazing kiddos; it’s so rewarding to be able to witness making a positive impact on another person’s life, let alone multiple people. On top of that, I have the best bosses and work with such awesome people, which makes me excited to come to work every day.”
