Strategies for Teaching Basic Communication Skills

Many children on the autism spectrum have difficulty acquiring language in the same way or at the same rate as their typically developing peers. Parents may worry about whether their child will develop the skills to communicate their basic needs and wants to others. If this concern is a familiar one, you may be interested in attending an upcoming talk at Gateway’s Sterling Heights clinic. As part of the Gateway Speaker Series, Lainey Rubin, BCaBA will be giving a presentation on strategies for teaching basic communication skills. The talk is intended to give parents and caregivers the tools they need to support their child’s ability to ask for things they might want or need, no matter the child’s skill level or particular mode of communication. If you are interested in attending, please register in advance. The date, time, location, and contact details are included below. We hope to see you there!
